Target India: Dainik Jagran

The Independent has teamed up with it’s sister title - DAINIK JAGRAN – to offer UK advertisers access to the Indian market – one of the fastest developing nations in the world.


DAINIK JAGRAN is India’s most popular daily newspaper and the largest read daily in the world. With readership of 53.3 million readers Dainik Jagran has one of the widest print media footprints in India and the world, printing 37 editions, with 204 sub editions, each day. It offers the largest reach amongst the affluent 20-40 year olds and is the most read daily amongst students and graduates in India.


The Independent editorial team will be producing a series of dedicated supplements, which will appear in Dainik Jagran over the course of 2008. These special pull-outs will be geared towards working in various sectors, studying in the UK, travelling to the UK and global property investment. The first will be a series of study supplements, written in conjunction with UCAS, that will explore the UK Higher Education world and offer tailored editorial for the Indian audience. The Independents’ sales team will be co-ordinating the advertising sales from the UK as well as handling all copy, booking logistics and even offering a free of charge Hindi translation service, if required.
