The competition will run from 28 June 2008 to 17 August 2008
Entry to the competition is free. No purchase necessary.
The competition is open to individual residents of the UK aged 18 or over, except employees of Independent News and Media Limited (“INM”), Finlandia and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their families, agents, or anyone connected with this competition, including the third-party promotional partners. Finlandia Vodka and The Independent support responsible drinking. Please be advised that we will be unable to accept any entries that appear to feature irresponsible or underage drinking.
There are 6 small prize draws and 1 grand prize draw. Entrants are required to register to enter and then upload their ‘Pure Emotion’ (the format can be a narrative, video or photograph) with a description. All details can be found at www.independent.co.uk/pureemotion. Winners will also be responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prize, as set out and in accordance with these terms and conditions.
The winners of the 6 small prize draws will be announced at www.independent.co.uk/pureemotion and drawn as follows:-
Week one: closing date 11 July (midnight GMT) and judged 12/13 July. Winner announced 14 July. Prize:
Prize: £5,000 plus Finlandia Vodka and cocktail book
Closing date: 17 August (midnight GMT)
Judging 18/19/20/21 August tbc
Winner announced 22 August.
Multiple entries will be accepted for all respective draws and all entries will be automatically considered and entered into the grand prize draw. For example, it would be possible for a winner of one of the smaller prizes to also win the grand prize.
Narratives, video and photographs cannot be returned.
The winners will be the entries that in the opinion of the editor and the judges best evoke and convey the term ‘Pure Emotion’. The judges’ and the Editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. It is a condition of entry that INM and the promoters will be entitled to use and reproduce the entries for such purposes as they so choose without compensation. A selection of entries will be exhibited at the Proud Gallery, Camden, London and INM reserves the right to publish the surname and the county of the winners.
If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, INM reserves the right to draw another winner from the entries.
INM will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind, or lost or unavailable network connections that may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant's ability to participate in the competition.
Registration, completion and submission of an online competition entry form will be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
INM reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition (including altering prizes) if, at its sole discretion, a competition is not able to be conducted as specified. INM reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond its control make this unavoidable.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
The promoter of the competition is Brown-Forman Corporation, Louisville, USA.
Where you have indicated that you would like Finlandia to contact you in the future, you agree that your relevant personal details will be held by Brown-Forman Corporation (‘BFC’) and may be used by BFC, other companies within the BFC group (details of which are available on request) or BFC’s agents, partners or licensees, to promote, to consider ways of improving, and to send you information about Finlandia products and services. Your details may accordingly be transferred to any country in which companies within the BFC group carry on business, including to countries outside the EU which may not provide levels of protection in respect of personal data as high as those which apply in the EU. BFC may also transfer your information to another company or entity in the event that any part of its business is transferred to or merged with that company or entity or when required to do so by law.
